Why Hypnotherapy as opposed to Talk Therapy, or other forms of what we call more “regular” therapy?

I would not even say as opposed to as I have a lot of client that have their “regular” therapists and work with me additionally and it is working well complementary to their work with their therapists. There are certain distinctions though that I also experienced myself which made me follow this path because I realized I could give most in the work with the subconscious. The reason for that being that the work with the subconscious circumvents our tendency to deflect, to suppress, to rationalize, to dissociate etc.

All of those can be (at the time a client enters therapy) already very stable patterns of someone’s personality and not even detected as what they are. And often they are carried over coping strategies and survival mechanisms, often from events that happened decades before. In Hypnotherapy you can actually see those patterns for what they are and then heal what lies underneath hence move on from those patterns, and create new ones. We transform the pattern into a new one. We channel the energy that was important to keep the old pattern alive into the new pattern we want to consciously create.

I often hear clients say they got more from working with me for one 3 hours RTT Hypnotherapy session (usually in form of a package where there is a 1 hour intake session before and a completion session after the 3 hours RTT session) than from decades of therapy. That is not to say that their therapist was or is not good, but it is different work. It is a different approach. The goals of RTT Hypnotherapy and other forms of therapy are different.

And how long does the effect last?

It is transformation for good. I am very specific with word as I see in my work how powerful every single word is, and this work is not leading to a change, it is leading to transformation. It is evolution, a growing into another way of being. Everything we are today and everything we believe today is because at one point we created it. We created it by being taught it, by observing it, by interpreting it, by coping with something, by using survival strategies to be able to survive something in a moment or in a phase of life.

That in consequence means that all our beliefs, all that we are today was random and I personally believe we can be more deliberate in who we are. If the beliefs and patterns are healthy and making us thrive, there is obviously no need to change them, but if they are unhealthy and block us, we can create new patterns of thinking, believing hence being on that subconscious level. On that level where we created them in the first place.

Energy can not be destroyed but transformed hence that is what we do in the session. We transform one pattern into another one, channeling the energy from the old, unhealthy pattern into the new, healthy pattern. The work on the level of the body is very central in my line of work. Once we feel differently in our body, something changes for good. It is a transformation for good.
